The Class of 1904

The November 1904 Polaris.
Scans courtesy of Bob Jones, from his mother's collection.
Hilda Marie Schilling, after graduating from FHS in 1906,
attended the Art Institute of Chicago.
She married Wyatt J. Jones, and they had four children.
Bob Jones, their youngest child, scanned his mother's Polarises.

Freeport's Winning Football Team of 1904.
Back row: Gleason, Holmes, Wagner, Vautsmeier, Angle, McCool, Chapman, Nolting.
Middle row: Goddard, Wheeler, Patton, Erwin, Schmelze, M. Rigney, S. Rigney.
Front row: Voss, Clarmont.
Freeport won the game 6-5. Apparently touchdowns were worth 5 points then.
Freeport made their extra point.
The game was called 5 minutes early because Mt. Morris had to catch a train home.

The Christmas issue of the Polaris, 1904.
There are more scans from Bob Jones on the 1906 page.
My scans of the June 1905 issue is on the 1905 page.
